You're Smarter Than That


Okay, someone has to say it and it might as well be me. I had a post recently because I have a lot of people asking me, "No...seriously.... how are you doing it?" They want to know: What pills am I taking. What fad diet am I on? What crazy latest scheme should they get on board with?? 

People, come ON! You're so much smarter than that!! 

I know that you're smarter than that, because when the guy comes on tv and starts shouting that if you invest only five easy payments of $49.99 into his program, he'll show you how to become a millionaire - you scoff! No one believes these yahoos. We all know that to earn a million dollars, it takes a long time, hard work, and dedication. 

And yet, when some bumbling idiot gets on tv (or the internet) and begins to be excited about how he has the latest innovation in weight loss success, shows you a couple of photoshopped pictures of people who "got thin" using his product, and tells you that it's less than "the cost of the gym membership that you'll no longer need!" - you bite. Why is it so hard for us to believe that to lose weight, it takes the same amount of invested time, hard work, and dedication as it takes to earn a living?! 

So, I've said it before, and I'll continue to shout it: There are no shortcuts. A healthy body is a result of a healthy lifestyle. Hard work. Dedication. Eat right. Workout. Drink water. You can do this. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

And stop believing everything you see on the internet and tv.

    I LOVE the graphic above and the blog post that goes with it! I too started a weight loss journey in April on this year at 313 (we were close!) I've lost 93 and still going. Keep up the good work - I'm in a wheelchair with Muscular Dystrophy so it doesn't always take sweating at the gym 365 days a year - 3 hours at a time. If you have the right program and the right nutrition AND the motivation you can do this!! Good luck on your journey :-)
